How usage is measured

Atlas bills on monthly active users (MAU) — a user who signs in or refreshes a session at least once in a calendar month. A user who never returns in a month isn't counted that month. Machine-to-machine and inactive users don't inflate your bill.

Manage billing

Everything billing-related lives under Billing in the dashboard:

  • See your current plan, MAU usage against your allowance, and projected charges.

  • Upgrade, downgrade or start the Pro trial.

  • Update your payment method and download invoices.

  • Set usage alerts so a spike never surprises you.

Self-hosting and cost

If you self-host Atlas, you run the platform on your own infrastructure. Talk to us about licensing for self-hosted production deployments.

Development instances don't count toward MAU. Test to your heart's content in Development — only real Production users are billed.
