Members & invitations

A member is a user who belongs to an organization with one or more roles. This page covers getting people into an org and managing them over time.

Inviting a member

  1. In the dashboard open Organizations, pick the organization, and go to Members.

  2. Choose Invite member and enter their email.

  3. Assign a role (for example, org:member or org:admin).

  4. Atlas emails an invitation with a one-time acceptance link.

  5. When they accept, they join the org with the role you chose. If they don't have an account yet, they create one during acceptance.

You can also let end users invite teammates from inside your app — the SDK and hosted org pages expose an invite UI you can enable.

Managing members

From Members you can:

  • Change a member's role(s).

  • Remove a member (their personal account is untouched; only their membership ends).

  • Resend or revoke a pending invitation.

  • See join dates and last activity per member.

Domains & automatic membership

For organizations that own an email domain, you can enable verified domains so anyone signing up with @acme.com is automatically routed into the Acme organization — the foundation for enforced SSO.

Personal accounts vs organization membership

Removing someone from an organization does not delete their Atlas user. They keep their personal account and any other org memberships. To block a person entirely, ban the user from Users (see Users & profiles).

Auditing

Every invitation, acceptance, role change and removal is written to the audit log, so you always have a record of how a person gained or lost access.
